Elizabeth Anne Chitwood, age 23 of Winchester, passed away at 3 p.m. CDT Sunday August 28, 2016 due to complications from a pulmonary embolism. Beth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decherd. She was a vibrant young woman who lived every aspect of her life to its fullest. She loved traveling, reading and had a deep love for her cat, Tybalt. Beth was the Salutatorian of the Franklin County High School Class of 2011 and graduated as a Buchanan Scholar and with honors from MTSU in 2015. She had just completed her first year at Vanderbilt Law School where she was a member of the Law Review. Beth had a love for traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people which gave her the opportunity to study abroad. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Beth is survived by her parents Madolyn Cofer Chitwood and Scott Chitwood of Estill Springs; sister, Emily Chitwood of Cookeville, TN; paternal grandmother, Wilma Chitwood of Oneida, TN; uncles, aunts and cousins, Rick and Nancy Chitwood (Cory & Caitlyn) of Powell, TN., Bo and Bettye Cofer (Rex & Jonna) of Winder, GA., Don Cofer of Decherd, Dennis and Jackie Cofer (Tim, Katy, Kara & Matt), Gennie and Wayne McDonald (Tilly, Tara, Mitchell & Jana) of Gainesville, GA., Randy & Cathy Cofer (Laura & Lacy); She is also survived by her devoted boyfriend, Zach Dresch along with numerous other family members and many, many friends. Visitation will be at Watson-North Funeral Home Friday September 2, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday September 3, 2016 from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 12 noon with Bruce Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Watson-North Memorial Park with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
