Funeral services for William H. Martin, 85, 1027 N Lake Ave., Pasadena, who died yesterday, will be conducted Thursday in Spokane, Wash., his former home. Mr. Martin leaves a daughter, Mrs. Marjory M. Weston, and a son, Harold M. Marting.

MARTIN FUNERAL SERVICE IS SET
Funeral service for W. H. Martin, retired Ritzville banker, will be held Thursday at Ritzville. Graveside service will be at 4:30 p.m. at Greenwood cemetery in Spokane.
Mr. Martin, prominent in Northwest banking circles, died yesterday at Pasadena, Calif., just two days after his 85th birthday., according to his son, Harold M. Martin of Spokane.
Mr. Martin went to California for his health a year ago and was making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Marjory M. Weston.
Mr. Martin was born in Sunbury, Ohio, June 29, 1866. After graduation from Grinnell college in 1890, he was in the banking business in Nebraska. He came west to Ritzville in 1901 and was one of the organizers of the Pioneer State Bank, which later became the Pioneer National bank.
Bank Positions Held
In 1920 the bank merged with the First National bank of Ritzville and Mr. Martin held the office of vice president and manager until the fall of 1921, when he resigned to organize the Ritzville State bank of which he was president until his retirement in 1949. He continued to serve as honorary chairman of the board.
Mr. Martin was one of the early presidents of the Washington Bankers' association, holding that office in 1913. He was elected secretary of the association in 1914 and continued to hold the post until his resignation in 1922.
Active in all civic affairs in Ritzville, he has served several terms as mayor, city treasurer and president of the school board. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, Masonic, IOOF and Modern Woodmen lodges.
In addition to his son and daughter, he is survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife died in 1918.
