BRIDGEWATER -- David Elmer "Bub" Crum, 96, of Rt. 2, Mt. Solon, formerly of the Parnassus Community, died Tuesday (March 28, 1995) at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. He had been a resident at the Bridgewater Home since Dec. 27, 1994.
He was born April 8, 1898 at Mt. Solon, a son of William Addison and Martha Jane (Obaugh) Crum.
He was a member of the Jollivue United Methodist Church.
He was married on Aug. 15, 1927 to Mary Frances Grogg, who preceded him in death Aug. 26, 1968.
Surviving are three sons, William Edward and Jacob Samuel, both of Churchville, and Roy Oliver Crum, of Staunton; two daughters, Flora Mae Gay of Mt. Solon and Martha Lee Holden of Bridgewater; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Johnson Funeral Service chapel by the Revs. Clemmer Matheny and Cecil Gunn, with burial in Augusta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mark and Timothy Crum, David Gay, Robert Rawley, Jr., Bill, Chris and Keith Holden, Ronald Good, Stephen Botkin and Kenneth Malcolm.
The family will recieve firends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Service chapel, Bridgewater.
