Mr. Bender was born September 9, 1926 in Guyson, North Dakota the son of Peter and Emma (Wittmeyer) Bender. He attended school through the 8th grade and then moved to East Fairview, North Dakota to work with his brother on a dairy farm. In 1946 Mr. Bender entered the U.S. Army serving until 1947 when he was discharged and began working for the Milwaukee Railroad. In 1970 Ted and Mildred Anderson were united in marriage. In 1973 they moved from Sidney, Montana to Forsyth where Mr. Bender continued his railroad career. They enjoyed fishing, camping, feeding birds, agates and crafting.

In addition to his parents Ted was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife Mildred of Forsyth, sons Dennis (Ava) Bender of Missoula, Mt., David (Val) Bender of Casper Wy., Robert (Gladys) Anderson of Gulfport, Ms., Donald (Joyce) Unterseher of Orland, Me., daughters Janice (Herb) Basco of Livingston, Mt., Carol (Gerald) Weidner of Wibaux, Mt., Debby (Joel) Sundheim of Snohomish, Wa., and Janet (Roger) Kindsfater of Phoenix Az., sister, Helen (Don) Lowry of Stevensville, Mt., 24 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
