Jane A. Boehm, 86, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio.

She was born on September 24, 1929, to Elwyn and Alice (Winsper) Thomas in Cleveland, Ohio. On August 27, 1949, she married Robert B. Boehm, who preceded her in death on January 8, 2007.

Jane was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Jane started the Ark Preschool at the church, and was the director for several years.

Jane will be sadly missed by her son, Thomas Boehm of Toledo; daughters, Elizabeth (Donald) Hileman of Defiance, Jennifer (Robert) Gaglianello of Little Silver, N.J., and Alicia (Rudy) Tucker of Mananass, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert B. Boehm; and sister, Gwynne Knobel.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, and for one hour prior to services at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with Pastor Joe Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Methodist Church, or Alzheimer’s Association.
