George Francis, son of Jackson and Sarah Pierson, was born May 1, 1872, in Harrison county, Mo., and departed this life May 17, 1937, at the age of 65 years, 16 days.

Most of his early life was spent in Harrison county, but following the death of his companion, he made his home with his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Huffman near Lamoni.

In 1922, he was united with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and remained faithful throughout his life. He was always cheerful and kind, and during his long illness, received most tender care from his daughter.

Surviving him are four children, Edward H. Pierson and Mrs. Nellie Huffman of Lamoni, Benjamin R. Pierson of Ridgeway, Mo., and Mrs. Leta Cox of Bethany, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers, two sisters, and other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon in the White Funeral home under the direction of Rev. D. B. Sorden and Rev. T. A. Beck. Interment was in Brown cemetery.
