Edith C. Farley Mayes, 84, of Red Bank, TN, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016

Edith was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University. She worked for DuPont, retired from Belk and was a ceramics small business owner. Edith was a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She volunteered for Erlanger North Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Tennessee Aquarium and Lions International. Edith loved playing Bridge.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband Paul Mayes; parents Doyle and Etta Farley

Edith is survived by three sons Alan Mayes, Tom ( Phyllis) Mayes, Mark ( Paula) Mayes; grandchildren Andy, Michael, Lori Mayes, Chelsea ( Tom) Richardson , Logan and Hunter Mayes; also many cherished nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 5, from 5-8 pm at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace and 1 hour before service on Tuesday at Red Bank United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11 am on Tuesday, September 6, at Red Bank United Methodist Church with The Reverend Daniel Creswell officiating.
A private interment will follow

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Edith’s name to Red Bank United Methodist Church, Youth Group Fund or to Alzheimer Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted in Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37415.
