LaHonda Goldston Adams, 76, of Petersburg passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Petersburg with Mr. Owen Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Strip Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

LaHonda was born on December 3, 1940 to Lloyd and Jane Goldston in Crosby County, Texas. She grew up in Petersburg and attended school there. She married J.D. Adams on November 29, 1958 in Petersburg. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she played the organ for many years. She loved to fish and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed chasing her grandchildren around and attending their sporting events and functions.

LaHonda was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Adams, and her parents.

Survivors include her two sons, Ricky Adams and wife Linda of Big Spring, Bucky Adams and wife Margaret of Petersburg; five grandchildren, Amanda Browne and husband Chris of Big Spring, Chris Adams of wife Nakesha of Big Spring, Courtney Burt of Big Spring, Tyler Adams and wife Taryn of Big Spring, Taylor Hernandez and husband Jace of Lubbock; and eight great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or A World for Children Foster Care Service, 3505 Olsen Blvd. #103, Amarillo, TX 79109
