John Millard Allen 74, of Charlotte, died Saturday, November 28, 1998 at Presbyterian Hospital.
Graveside ser-vice will be 11:00 AM Mon-day, November 30, at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will re-ceive friends this evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service, Char-lotte Chapel.
Mr. Allen was born May 29, 1924 in Gastonia to the late John M. Allen and Catherine Barnes Allen. He re-tired from Douglas Aircraft and was a partner with Mt. Holly Machine Shop. He served in the US Army during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific. He also survived the Battle of Pearl Harbor and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Alice Richardson Allen. Son, Johnny Allen and wife Jeannene of Terrell, NC. Daughters, Jill Allen Atwell and husband Stan of Brown Summitt, NC and Susan Lynn McClean and her husband Scott also of Brown Summitt. Grandchildren, Jennifer Brett, Jacob McClean, Claire Atwell, Hayley Atwell and Scotty McClean. Great Granddaughter, Nat-alie Brett and a sister, Mildred Allen Ostwalt of Belmont, NC.
