Jason Michael Horner, 38, of Panama City Beach, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at a local hospital. Jason was born in Plantation, FL, and lived most of his life in Bay County. He was a former boat captain and employee of Treasure Island Marina. Jason attended the Eastgate Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Horner and Laura Horner McClain; his grandfather, James Horner; and a cousin Ali Knorr.

Survivors include his daughter, Jade Horner and step-daughter, Kaylei Harrison, both of Panama City Beach; his sister, Colby McClain of Hodges, SC; grandparents, Joe and Elberta Bennett of Panama City and Carol Horner of Rotonda, FL; aunts, Debra and Mike Hoving of Lynn Haven, Pam and Lenny Knorr of Panama City Beach, Ann and John Brandenberger of Venice, FL and Laura and Bob Hamilton of St. Petersburg; uncles, Mark and Sue Bennett, Scott Bennett and Joe A. Bennett, all of Panama City and Jim and Richelle Horner of Englewood, FL; his former mother-in-law, Catherine Powers of Panama City Beach; and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jason's name may be made to either the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation
