Betty Lou Van Blaricon, 49, a resident of 726 North Main, Centerville, died Monday, August 15, 1977, at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born November 2, 1927, in Davis County, she was the daughter of Virgil and Martha Harison Tharp. She was married to Elvin (Pete) Van Blaricon, and he survives. Also surviving are five children, Mrs. George Jr. (Sheila) Kratofil, Mystic; Mrs. Mike (Vicky) Stephens and Ricky, both of Centerville; and Brian and Denise at home; her mother, Martha Tharp, Centerville; five grandchildren; one sister, Ada Mae Hills, Beloit, Wisc.; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil, and one brother, Richard Tharp.
Services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Duley Funeral Home in Centerville, with the Rev. David Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati. Visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. A memorial to the cancer fund has been established.

Note: There are gravestones for Elvin and Betty Lou (Tharp) Blanicon in the Jerome Cemetery and in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Elvin's obituary states that he was buried in Jerome; Betty Lou's states she was buried in Pleasant Hill. There are two Memorials, at least for Betty Lou, on findagrave.com as a result of these two gravestones.
