Bamberg - Leo Wesley Utsey, 67, died Thursday at his farm near Bamberg. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Cooner Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Bamberg County Memory Gardens. Mr. Utsey was born in Branchville, Feb 10, 1907, a son of the late Willie Utsey and Mrs. Julie Wolfe Utsey. He was employed by the S.C. Highway Dept. for 35 years until his recent retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bamberg. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Ethel Wilson Utsey of Bamberg; a son, Jerry Don Utsey of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Hutto Utsey of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Weeks of Summerville and Mrs. Lottie Mae Poland of St. George; and three grandsons. © The News and Courier, Charleston, SC, 2 Mar 1974
