She extends her hand to the poor, Yes she reaches out her hands to the needy. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised. Proverbs 31.

Elizabeth ( Betty) O'Donnell was born to Bert and Tinney Milam at their home between Calvin and Holdenville, Oklahoma on September 30, 1918. With strength and dignity she fought a long battle against myelodysplastic anemia and congestive heart disease and went home to be with our Lord on September 1, 2016. She married Dennis O'Donnell on March 27, 1936 at Earlsboro, Oklahoma and to this union was born five children. The thing she loved most and was most proud of was her family, not only her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, but many many nieces and nephews.

As the wife of a pastor she was supportive, kind, loving, compassionate and always willing to help someone in need. She was gentle and forgiving. She was a dedicated longtime member of the Wolf Freewill Baptist Church and played the piano there until she was 90 years old.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two brothers, three sisters and in 1991 by Dennis, her husband of 55 years and in 2003 by her grandson, Jeffrey Scott Burnett.
