Karl James Penny was born March 15, 1950 in San Diego, California to Harmon Charles Penny and Shirley Evans Penny and passed away on December 6, 2014 in Houston, Texas.

Karl is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by wife, Susan Penny; son, Neil Penny; stepmother, Connie Penny; sister, Karen Penny Fulton; brother, Eric Penny; and many extended family and friends.

Karl was involved in the following organizations and/or church affiliations: Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, St. Agnes Academy Library, Bridges to Life Prison Ministry, Order of the Arrow in the Boy Scouts of America, APO Service Fraternity at University of Houston, Sierra Club.

There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 3:00pm at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church at 11612 Memorial Dr. Houston, Texas 77024. The pastor Kristin Huffman will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, because of Karl's love of nature and the outdoors, a donation to your favorite Texas state park or your favorite national park would be greatly appreciated.
