Gary Lee Leasure, 58, of Greencastle, formerly of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at home.
Born Oct. 17, 1957, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Oscar LeRoy Leasure and Ethel (McCleaf) Leasure.
Gary was a graduate of Allegany High School and Frostburg State University.
He had been employed by Citicorp as a computer analyst.
While living in Cumberland, Gary belonged to First Presbyterian Church.
He was involved in the Cumberland Hot Stove League and bowling associations. In his youth, Gary played baseball and basketball. He was an accomplished tennis player and excellent bowler. He earned many bowling awards and had over three 300 games. He was also an avid golfer and earned the title Captain for organizing trips with co-workers and friends. Gary also spent many hours giving back by coaching and mentoring Cumberland youth baseball programs.
He was a thankless caregiver for his family and others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his brother, Ralph Leasure and wife, Diane, Ellicott City, (formerly of Cumberland); his nephew, Kevin Leasure and wife, Jenny, and their son, Cole James, Ellicott City.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, from noon until 1 p.m.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Caroline Kelly, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
