Dewey N. Corley
(September 7, 1925 - August 31, 2016)

Dewey Nathaniel Corley age 90 of the Statesville Community, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 31, 2016 at Northside Health Care in Murfreesboro. Born Sept. 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Corley and Lottie Mae Keaton Corley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Bullard Corley on Feb. 9, 2014 and 7 sisters and brothers, Allie Mae Perry, Montie Ray Jamison, Bobby Lee McFarlin, Wilva Earl Corley, Lucy Arzola Nix, Ethel Alberta Williamson and Owen Donald Corley. Dewey was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church and U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. He was a long time farmer and a former board member of the Wilson Co. Farmers Co-Op and the Dekalb Co. Telephone Co-OP. Dewey is survived by his daughter, Joanne Shipper and husband, James Lowe of Statesville; son, Dale Corley of Statesville; grandchildren, Amanda Beth Corley of Nashville, Nathan Shipper of Statesville, Clint Shipper of Statesville, Lori (Tim) Chaffin of Lebanon; great grandchildren, Erika and Lexy Chaffin; sister, Mary Neal Vaughan of Madison; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Don Rigsby and Bro. David Moody officiating. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. till service time on Saturday.
