Peter Coco, 82, of North Andover, MA passed away peacefully August 31, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son the late Anthony and Nellie (Gugliamino) Coco.
Peter came to the US from Sicily as a teenager with his family for a better life. He settled in Lawrence at 17 years old as a strong, focused, and innovative young man who ultimately started his own business, Bond Leather Co., in Peabody, MA. He proudly became a US citizen in 1956. Family was most important and he worked hard to ensure they were properly taken care of. Peter generously shared his successes with those he came in contact with and thus, became an inspiration to many on how to live an unselfish, considerate, and charitable life.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Rita L. (Sarcione) Coco of North Andover; his children Peter M. Coco and his wife Clare of North Andover, and Donna M. Laudani and her husband Placido of Boxford. He also leaves his adored grandchildren Christopher and Gregory Laudani, and Alexandra Coco, as well as his sister Josephine Smith of Tampa, FL.and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son Anthony P. Coco and his brother Alfio “Freddy” Coco.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his funeral mass at 10 am on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. Michael Church, 196 Main St., North Andover, followed by his burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
