Ida Louisa Marie (Metschke) Schnoor was born to her loving parents Friedrich and Maria (Hansel) Metschke on Sunday May 18, 1884 near Scribner, Dodge County Nebraska. My research found no information on her childhood or schooling. Ida was raised in the Lutheran Missouri Synod faith. She was united in marriage to Johannes Schnoor on Thursday June 11, 1908 at Snyder, Dodge County. The Schnoor's lived on a rural farm southwest of Scribner, they were blessed over the years of their marriage with four children. Ida was a housewife and gardener. On Friday April 18, 1947 Ida and her husband Johannes were my baptismal sponsors. Sadly within a year Ida passed so I have no memory of her. Ida had been in good health previous to her death. Ida was up her usual time on Wednesday morning March 17, 1948. Ida had prepared the family morning meal when she started feeling ill. Johannes helped Ida return to their bed where she laid down to rest. Ida soon lapped into unconsciousness passing at 8:30a that morning. Ida was 63 years, 9 months, 28 days of age which does not include her last day, she lived a total of 23,313 days. Ida's funeral was held Saturday March 20, 1948 at her home at 1:30p then at 2p at the St. Peter Lutheran Church at Scribner with Rev. Otto W. Wehrmann officiating. Ida was interred in the Scribner Municipal Cemetery. Years later I would visit with Johannes after Sunday morning church service. Ida's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Ida by her godson Loren R. I believe all lives matter, even the lives of those who have passed. Many details are still missing from her life, if you have any more details I will be happy to edit the additional information into this biography. Please send your info to me at my email address [email protected]
