Born at the Butler-Couse homestead east of Mccook to Roger and Myrle Stuart Couse He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation and farmed with his dad until joining the USAF in 1952. He served in Korea as a flight engineer and crew chief with the B-26 Night Intruder bomber with the 17 th bombardment wing. He flew three missions and later was stationed in Albuquerque New Mexico with the 2925 test Group Atomic. He was one of the few that was in a plane when the Atomic bomb was detonated. In 1956 he returned to Nebraska where he worked for the CB&Q railroad and farmed with his father. On March 26, 1959 he married Wavalee Howell Kerr and lived on the family farm until 1983. He worked for Dayco and the US Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier until retirment in 1996.
He was preceded in death by a daughter in law Rita(Lubbe)Couse and his parents. Survivors include his wife Wavalee, Daughters Deborah and Husband Bill Rogers of Bartley, Marlyn and Rod Peters of McCook, Son Bob and wife Tammy Kerr of McCook, Scott Couse of North Platte, Ryan Couse of Central City. Two Brothers Stuart and wife Bobbi. Virgil and Wife Alice, and 2 sisters. Marilyn and Barbara and Gene Wilson all of Colorado. And Special dog Cassie(killer)
Services will be Wed at 10.A. M at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home Chapel in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
