Mr. Jimmy Blackburn, age 79 of Wilkesboro, passed away Sunday, August 28th, 2016.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, September 2, 2016 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Adams officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 prior to the service at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Blackburn was born January 13, 1937, in Wilkes County to Olen and Myrtle Johnson Blackburn. He was retired from Tyson Foods.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Nancy Billings Blackburn, three brothers; Granvel Porter, Jesse Porter, and twin brother, Willie; four sisters; Faye Carver, Pauline Childress, Pansy Barnett and Dovie Brewer, two children; Darryl Blackburn and Richard Minton.
He is survived by six children; Carol and husband Larry Jones of Lenoir, Debbie Blackburn of Millers Creek, Terry Blackburn of Traphill, Micheal and wife Mary Blackburn of Hays, Christe Mathis of Wilkesboro, Kenny and wife Dolly Roten of Wilkesboro, stepchildren; Loretta and Darren Staley of Millers Creek and Eddie and Francis Minton of Hays, sister and brothers;
