James John Allain, M.D., 88, Prairie Village, KS, passed away January 20, 2014. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS. Cremation. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 2552 Gilham Road, Kansas City, MO. James J. Allain was born April 5, 1925 in Belleville, WI, to parents Theodore A. and Mary M. (Hoffman) Allain. Growing up in Wisconsin, James was a former State Tennis champion. In 1953, Dr. Allain graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He was an Ophthalmologist and a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology with a certification in Ophthalmology. Dr. Allain was a faithful member of Cure of Ars Catholic Church. Dr. Allain was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Thomas Allain, and by his second wife, Norma Jean Huhnman Allain.
