Grady Lewis Martin, age 81, of Tellico Plains, passed away 4 AM Tuesday, August 30th, 2016, at Starr Regional Medical Center, Athens. Retired from Magic Chef and Monroe County Highway Department. He enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors, wife of 61 years, Hazel Webb Martin, of Tellico Plains, daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Larry Britton, grandchildren and spouses Stacy and Noe Lopez, all of Etowah, Donnie Martin, of Athens, Ella Martin, Josh Martin, both of Tellico Plains, Denean and Justin Seaborn, of Cleveland, 17 great-grandchildren, brothers, Dave Martin and Roy Martin, both of Tellico Plains. Preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Nora Martin, sons Darrell Martin, Dean Martin, and Donald Martin, grandchildren, Steven Martin and Tonya Martin, sister Essalee Presley, brothers Willie Martin, Joe Martin and Maurice Martin. Funeral 8:00 PM Wednesday, Biereley-Hale Chapel. Rev. Vernon Webb officiating. Masonic service 7:45 PM Wednesday. Interment 11 AM Thursday, Rural Vale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-7:45 PM Wednesday, Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains.
