On Wednesday, July 3, 1940, at his home near Germantown, Md., Jacob Hammann, beloved husband of Joan Hartley Hammann.

Funeral services Sunday, July 7, at 2 p.m. at McDonald Chapel, Quince Orchard, Md., Interment Forest Oak Cemetery, Gaithersburg.

Jacob Hammann Dies At Home in Montgomery
The death of Jacob Hammann, 79, of Germantown, Md., a Montgomery County resident for more than 30 years, was revealed here yesterday by a son, Police Sergt. Reid L. Hammann, attached to No. 11 precinct. The elder Mr. Hammann died at his home July 3.
A farmer throughout his life, he was a member of McDonald Chapel Methodist Church, Quince Orchard, Md., for many years. Mr. Hammann was born in Fulton County, Pa., of parents who emigrated from Wurtemburg, Germany.
Mr. Hammann is survived by four other sons, Raymond F. of Philadelphia, James T. of Kensington, Md., and Ralph C. and Andrew H Hammann, both of Germantown; his widow, Mrs. Joan Hartley Hammann; four daughters, Miss Irma A. Hammann of Philadelphia, Mrs. Norman Gassaway of Quince Orchard, Mrs. M. E. Carter of Kensington and Miss Clara M. Hammann of Germantown; a sister, Mrs. E. J. Akers of Conway, Kans., and a brother, George I. Hammann of Barron, Wis., and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 7 in McDonald Chapel, with burial in Forest Oak Cemetery, Gaithersburg.
