FAGGERT -vs- QUILMAN

It is my belief that Milly Quilman was
the wife of Solomon Bost and researchers
have configured Anna Amelia Faggert into
"Milly" Anna Amelia Bost....based on the wrong
information provided on Sarah E Bost Saunders
death certificate which was provided by one of
her children or grandchildren.

First I must establish the family connections:
Daniel Faggert and Valentine Faggert are brothers.
Daniel Faggert married Mary Elizabeth Bost
Mary Elizabeth Bost is the sister of Solomon Bost
All these folks are dead by 1859 or before this date.

Soloman Bost daughter Sarah E Bost Saunders
lived until 1925 and had been a Widow for many
years prior to her death. Sarah was 5 years old
when her mother Milly died. Sarah would have
missed out on hearing family stories from her
Mother at this age and into the future without
any QUILMAN family members around.

Sarah's children could of never known their Grandfather nor their Grandmother all would of died prior to their birth.
Sarah's first child wasn't born until 1857 which was
2 years after her father, Solomon Bost death and "16" years after her mother Milly Quilman Bost death.

Milly Quillman family had all moved out of North Carolina to Illinois by 1850. Two years after her death. The children of Solomon and Milly Quillman would of never had interaction Quillman family after this time.

Solomon's children and Grandchildren could of had interaction the Bost and Faggert families who never moved from the county.

It's my belief that Sarah E Bost Saunders children could of been confused about how they were related to the Faggert family. It was their Aunt Mary Elizabeth Bost who was married to a Faggert - and not their Grandfather Solomon Bost.

My proof comes from St.John's Lutheran Graveyard, which was Indexed & recorded by Ruth Blackwelder in 1936. The Blackwelder families had close contact with the Quillman and Meisenheimer families. Ruth makes notes on Milly Bost record - that she is the daughter of Peter Quilman.

The photo of Milly Bost headstone at Findagrave is un-readable. If someone could do a rubbing of the headstone and deciphers what it say's this might offer more proof to my data, or not. Peter Quilman was a Revolutionary soldier and is buried in this same cemetery. The headstone has been long gone and prior to Ruth's index in 1936.

Additional information:

Having a photo of Milly Q. Bost prior to her death in 1841 would be highly unlikely, based on the history of photography in this time period and location in the country and her social status and income. Milly was only 43 at the time of her death. The woman in the photo could be 60 years or older.

Here's an FYI:

Milly Quillman Bost sister - Elizabeth Quillman was married to Jacob Blackwelder. After Elizabeth's death in 1825, Jacob married Solomon Bost sister - Susannah Bost.
