Mrs. Lydia Velez Clark, 89, passed away on August 29, 2016 at Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 18, 1927 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to Pablo and Matilde Cervoni Velez. She was a member of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church where she was also a member of the St. Theresa’s Guild and also very active with Meals on Wheels. She very much enjoyed her Bridge Clubs and the Woman’s Club of Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Charlie Clark and also three brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Marguerita Clark of Winston-Salem and last but not least, her faithful little dog, Hope. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday September 12, 2016 at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Cook officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium. The family will like to thank the entire staff at Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center for all their love and compassionate care of Mrs. Lydia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 335 Springdale Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
