Shirley Dubose Greer, 68, completed her earthly journey and passed in peace, with God's healing grace, from this life to her eternal resting place on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in McKinney, Texas. She was born on January 13, 1948 in Alice, Texas to Clarence and Evelyn Dubose. After graduation from William Adams High School and Durham’s Business School in Corpus Christi, Texas she began her career.

She and her family moved to Barstow, California for several years and then to the Dallas area where she raised her family and worked in the business world. She returned to Alice in 2009 where she resided until January of this year, moving to Denison to be closer to her family.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Clarence Dubose.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Greer and his wife, Julie, of McKinney, Texas, John Greer and his wife, Phyllis, also of McKinney, Texas; one granddaughter, Amy Flores and her husband, Ruben; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Ava, and Eden of The Colony, Texas; her mother, Evelyn Dubose, of Alice, Texas; sisters Joan Owen and her husband, Vic, of Richardson, Texas, Doris Wright of Kingsville, Texas, Linda Lane of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a loving and caring mother and daughter whose life was spent in service to God, her family, her employers, and her community. While she was in Alice, she was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and volunteered at Christus Spohn Hospital. She also enjoyed reading, writing short stories and poetry, needlework, and gardening.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. with Deacon Jim Carlisle at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. Leonard Pivonka on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 603 E. Fifth St., Alice, Texas with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Services are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas. Condolences may be offered at www.holmgreenmortuaryinc.com
