"Raymond B. Davenport

Raymond B. Davenport, aged 69 years, of Walmo R.D.3, died in the Jameson Memorial hospital this morning at 7:15 o'clock, following a lingering illness.

Mr. Davenport was born in Salamanca, N Y., on August 8, 1878, son of W. L. and Myraetta Crandall Davenport. He lived here most of his lifetime, and for 30 years worked at the Carnegie-Illinois Steel company. For the past 11 years he was employed at the Johnson Bronze company. The deceased was a member of the Trinity Episcopal church, the Mahoning lodge, the Shriners and Syria Mosque of Pittsburgh, Pa. Mr. Davenport was a captain in the National Guard, Troop F, and served in Mexico in 1916.

His first wife, Mrs. Emma Cook Davenport, died in 1943, and he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Moorhead, in 1934.

His wife, Mrs. Maude M. Davenport, to whom he had been married for three years survives, and the following children: Lynn C. of Sharon, Mrs. Donald P. Eckles, Mrs. Charles A. Bender and Mrs. Dudley M. Arnold, all of this city, and Donald O. Davenport of Sharpsville, Pa.

He leaves a brother, Edward L. Davenport, this city, and sister, Mrs. George Chase, Wick, N.H.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10 a. m. from the Joseph B. Leyde mortuary, Highland at Winter, Rev. Ralph E. Hovencamp in charge. The family will receive friends at the mortuary Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 o'clock and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 o'clock.

Burial will be in Union cemetery, Niles, O."
