Jerry was a native and lifelong resident of Youngstown. He worked as a longshoreman at Port Panama City, Fla., for 35 years, loading and unloading cargo ships. After his retirement from the Port, he worked with Gulf Asphalt Co. as owner/operator for seven years before retiring. Jerry was a devoted Christian who enjoyed serving the Lord at Cornerstone Family Fellowship. He loved and provided well for his family. Jerry enjoyed working hard, and loved the great outdoors. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, two sons, five grandchildren,
A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Aldridge and Pastor Tommy McCormick officiating. Interment will follow at Youngstown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011.
