Jenaro Alvidrez, age 23, passed away at University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ following an illness. Jenaro was born August 23, 1983 in Fort Sumner, NM to the home of Jesus and Helen Valencia Alvidrez. He was reared and attended schools in Vaughn, graduating from Vaughn High School in 2003. Jenaro loved fishing, playing video games and football. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Gilberto and Serafina Valencia and his cousin Jose` Angel Alvidrez. Survivors include his parents, Jesus and Helen Alvidrez of Vaughn, his sisters; Jessica Esparaza and husband Nicolas of Corpus Christi, TX and Irenes Alvidrez of Vaughn, uncles and aunts; Juan and Viola Valencia of Liberal, KS, George and Diane Valencia of Anton Chico, Manuel and Lydia Alvirdez of Yeso, NM as well as numerous cousins, friends and realtives. Rosary services will be held on Monday, November 20, at 7:00 from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 21, at 11:00 AM also from St. Mary's Church with Father Gerald Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be Ramon Tapia, Luke Tapia, Jason Morgan, Andres Aguilar, Nicolas Esparza and George Valencia, Jr. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will bel Benito Alvidrez, Juan Alvidrez, Patrick Villanueva, Irenes Alvidrez and Joanette Alvidrez. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
