Funeral services for Goldie Mae Whitsitt, 96, of Sellersburg, IN, will be held at 3 PM, on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday prior to the service from 12-3 PM. Burial will take place at a later date in New Albany National Cemetery. She passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg.

Goldie was born on November 6, 1919 in Milton, KY to the late Arthur and Nannie Booth. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at the Powder Plant in Charlestown, IN, and was a long-time member of Oak Park Baptist Church in Jeffersonville.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Johnson; her second husband, Fae Emerson Whitsitt; and seven siblings.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Janice Whitsitt and her husband Jim; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
