Shannon Reynolds beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and friend passed away August 15, 2016. Shannon was born on March 28, 1954 in Kansas City to Jimmie and Charles Fitzgerald. Following gradation from Southwest High School, she trained as a dental assistant. She lived for a time in Florida, California, New Mexico and Texas before moving back to Kansas City. Shannon had many, many friends many of whom thought of her as a second mother.
She was a wonderful cook known for her wonderful cooking – her signature quiche and burgers. Above all else, she loved her friends, music especially the Rolling Stones and Prince, anything purple, crystals and stones with healing powers, talking on the phone to her “walk you through it”, her cat, Doris and spending time at the pool. She was generous to a fault, wonderfully funny, sometimes exasperating but always the life of any party. As one of her friends said, the pool will not be the same without her. Nothing will.
She is survived by her son, Desmond Weck and his 3 children; her sister and brother-in-law, Michael and Walt Scott; her nephew, Asher Erickson and many, many friends. A gathering for her friends will be held at a later time so we will let you know the date and time. In lieu of flowers, Shannon would have liked donations to Wayside Waifs made in her memory.
