We're missing you a little more each time we hear your name. We've cried so many tears yet our hearts are broken just the same. We miss our times together things in common we could share but nothing fills the emptiness now you're no longer there. We've so many precious memories to last our whole lives through each of them reminders of how much we're missing you.

Ruth Davis Williams, age 71, of Elizabethton, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Ruth was a native of Elizabethton and was a daughter of the late Lawrence Davis, Sr. and Alma Greer Davis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jerry Mack Williams, who was retired from the United States Navy; and one sister, Mary Davis Austin and husband Gene Austin.

Ruth retired from manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family, shopping and was an avid Elvis fan.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Lisa Davis and husband Jim, of Hampton; a granddaughter and the joy of her life, Shonda Davis, of Hampton; a great grandchild due in October, Lexi Bowman; two sisters, Dee Davis Grindstaff and husband Owen, and Louise Davis Odom, all of Elizabethton; one brother, Lawrence Davis, Jr. and wife Patsy, of Johnson City; her life-long friends, Carolyn Hathaway, Phyllis Walker and Rosemary Stout; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Ruth Davis Williams will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Terry Jones, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday; or at the residence at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Michael Bowman, Larry Davis, Charlie Lampkins, Randy Lyons, Andrew Pate and Scott Pate. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 10:00 AM on Friday, to go in procession.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tara Harmon, Justin Bentley, Savannah Whitehead, T.J. Bentley, Shannon Mains and Tim Andrews.
