MAYODAN Donna Beth Amos, 73, went home to be with Jesus Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 at Mayodan First Baptist Church with Reverend T.J. Easter and Reverend John Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.A Rockingham County native, Donna was born March 2, 1943, the daughter of Brodas Ernest Amos and Mae Tilley Amos. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Mayodan. Donna faithfully taught the four and five-year-olds Sunday school class for 56 years. She worked for Sears for 35 years and retired from CITI.She was preceded in death by her parents.Donna was a dedicated Carolina Tar Heel Basketball fan. She dearly loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews.Donna is survived by her sister Linda White of Mayodan; niece, Renee Herndon of Mayodan and nephew Todd Herndon and wife Vicki of Stokesdale; great nieces, Brooke Hopkins and husband Anthony of Mayodan, Addison Herndon of Mayodan, Hunter Herndon and Alyssa Wilson of Stokesdale; great-great niece and nephew, Kylee Hopkins and Ashton Hopkins of Mayodan. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Ray Funeral Home and other times at Donna's home.
