Viginia was born on May 14, 1927 in St. Louis, MO to Simon Terell Rubottom & Mary Ellen Verbeck. She grew up in the St. Louis area & was always fond of the area.
She married Robert Skinner in June 1949 in Maplewood, MO. They have 4 children: Robert Jr. (Vikki), Paul (Karen), Mary (Raymond) & Carolyn. 6 grandchildren: Benjamin (Laura), Ezra (Michelle), Duncan, Abraham, Caitlin (Alfredo) & Ethan.8 great-grandchildren. Her family brought her immense joy and she was always interested in their lives. She always valued family & kept in touch with many of her Rubottom & Verbeck cousins, nieces & nephews.
Ginny worked at Miller Jr. High for many years, both in the classroom & the library. She enjoyed writing, especially about her childhood, Rv-ing with the EZ Wheelers & sharing her famous home-grown rose bouquets.
For many years Ginny served as a Deacon in the New Community of Faith Church. Her friendly smile & listening ear will be missed.
She passed away at home in San Jose, CA, on May 8, 2015, surrounded by family members.
A memorial in her honor will be held at the New Community of Faith Church, 6350 Rainbow Dr. San Jose, CA on June, 20, 2015 at 2pm.
