Donna LaVay Pettit Bacca

Donna LaVay Pettit Bacca, 80, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Donna was born February 2, 1936 in Murray, UT to Vernal and Amber Pettit. Donna was the oldest of 9 children. She graduated from Granite High School, and continued her education at the University of Utah. Donna met and married Jack Baker on June 27, 1955 and together they had 4 children, Jackie, Linda, Cecelia and Steve. Later divorced, Donna married Joe Long. Later divorced, Donna then married Larry Bacca on April 15, 1994. She gained 4 more children, Troy, Matt, Debbie, and Angela.
Donna enjoyed going camping, boating, and being outdoors with all of her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed traveling, and specifically enjoyed sitting on the beach. Her favorite pastime was taking care of her flowers around her home. No matter where she lived, she always had flowers surrounding her. Donna lived her life to the very fullest. She may have been a tough cookie, but she loved with all of her heart.
We want to give a special thanks to all of the nurses, CNA's and caregivers that provided Donna with care over the past few years. Those who worked at Beehive Homes of West Jordan, Legacy Homes of Taylorsville, and Encompass Home Health and Hospice (Char and Lisa). We appreciate the care and love you provided Donna with. We especially want to thank Cory Fowler and Jedd Nielsen for being "her boys" and for taking care of her and her family, Annalise for being so gentle and loving, and Leigh Anne Garcia for not only being her doctor, but her friend.
Donna was survived by her 3 daughters, Jackie (Steve) Beebe, Linda (Kelly-deceased) Brecke, Cecelia (Ted) Maestas, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, her siblings Carol Osguthorpe, Joan (Floyd) Caldwell, Lynn (Marion) Pettit, Rodger (Sharon) Pettit, Margaret (Darrell) Lloyd, Miriam (Wayne) Lewis, and Karla Brown, and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Amber and Vernal Pettit, her brother, Gayle Pettit, her son, Steve Baker, her husband, Larry Bacca, and her great-great grand babies Kol Casper and Gerald Smith.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W., Riverton, UT from 6-8 PM. A graveside service will be held at the Murray Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine St. Murray, UT on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 1 pm.
