She was born February 19, 1927, in Dinuba to Dewey and Francis Fay Bridges Ayers. She was one of the first telephone operators, working for Bell Telephone Company for many years. She was one of the founding members of the Four Square Church in Dinuba. After moving to Russellville to be close to family, she served as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital and enjoyed reading and visiting the Senior Activity Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Jerrel Dan Dodgion and Cecil Howard Reneau; a brother and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Michael A. Dodgion of Russellville; a daughter, Donna Dodgion of Russellville; four grandchildren, Anthony Bucci of Dover, Arkansas, Maryah Bates of Clinton, Arkansas, Teri Bills of Atkins, Arkansas and Jerry Nichole Dodgion of Paradis, California; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Willems of Fresno, California; and other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. She will be buried with her first husband, Jerrel, in Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
