Charles Fountain Faulkner was born on 3 July 31 1881, in Nortonville, Kentucky to Hutchins Burton Faulkner Jr and Margaret Francis "Fanny" Mills.
Charles' childhood was spent with his parents and siblings, Mary Elizabeth, John, and Thomas, in Hopkins County, Kentucky.
Following his father's death in 1888, Charles' mother remarried to Philip Taylor and the family moved to Louisville, Kentucky. The family soon grew with new children born: Phenaty May, Margaret, and William Miller Taylor.
Charles married Lora E Swafford on 7 Mar 1908 in Shelby County, Tennessee. Their first child, William Melvin, was born in Tennessee. They soon moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where their daughter, Francis, was born in St. Louis in 1909.
The family continued to grow following a move to Illinois, with Phil, Carl, Clarence Charles, Dorothy, Ernest, and Abe born between 1918 and 1930.
In Chicago, Charles operated a business, printing and distributing circulars in the Chicago area. Charles and Laura remained living in Chicago throughout their lives.
Charles died on 9 October 1955 in Chicago, Illinois and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery and Mausoleum.
