Peggy Ann Schultz, 70, of Carlton, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth after a courageous three year battle with cancer.

She was born September 29, 1934 in Cloquet to Floyd and Evelyn “Peggy” (Haller) Jones. Peggy grew up in Atkinson and graduated from Barnum High School in 1952.

On May 9, 1953, she married Robert Schultz. Peggy was the Deputy Court Administrator for the Carlton County Court System for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Atkinson since 1962 until its closing in 1995. There she was a Sunday School superintendent and also served on the church council. Since 1995, she was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa where she was very active in the LCW and the church council.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert V.; daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisc.; son, Michael (Mary) Schultz of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Anthony, and Andrew Schultz, and Aaron and Sarah Johnson.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 in Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa. Burial was in Atkinson Cemetery.
