BRIDGEPORT— Cheryl Lynn Rittenhouse Green, 61, of Bridgeport passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016, at her residence. She was born February 16, 1955, in Clarksburg, a daughter of Mildred Guinn Kellam and the late Stanley Willis Rittenhouse. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Frank Green.

She is also survived by her son, Ford Green and his fiancée Sara Schnably of Morgantown; two brothers, Stanley Allen Rittenhouse and his wife Norma of Fairmont and Timothy Mark Rittenhouse and his wife Freda of Marietta, GA; two nephews, Scott Allen Rittenhouse of Nashville, IN, and Brian Allen Rittenhouse of Simpsonville, SC; two nieces, Rachel Stoneking of New Martinsville, WV, and Holly Dysart of Madonna, GA.

Cheryl was a billing clerk with United Hospital Center for five years until her retirement. She had also worked for several other physicians over her career.

She was a member of the Kanawha City Baptist Church in Charleston and she enjoyed singing in the choir there and at Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport. She also volunteered with the youth after school program and was also a volunteer teacher at Bible school. She loved to read and was very fond of her cat Hairy Green.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Dr. C. Michael Hopkins presiding. Interment will be in Bridgeport Cemetery.
