From the Denver Post obituary (with additional information in brackets): Cecil H. Boyd passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 12, 2014 at the age of 102. Cecil was born to Clyde and Elizabeth Boyd on March 5, 1911 in Norman, Oklahoma. When Cecil was very young his family moved to Greeley, Colorado where he grew up and later attended the University of Colorado. He started his business career in Denver during the 1930's working as a store manager for the B. F. Goodrich Company and founded the Boyd Distributing Co. in 1945. He would go on to become a major wholesale distributor for small appliances, Motorola, Philco, KitchenAid, Sony, Viking, Capitol records, many outdoor turf equipment products, E-Z-Go golf carts and many other products and divisions of the company. Cecil was a member of El Jebel Shrine and the Royal Order of Jesters in Denver. He was President of the Lakewood Country Club and served on the board of directors at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver. He and his wife Jane traveled worldwide and would visit Scottsdale regularly in the 50's. They took up part time residence in 1965 and decided to reside there full time in 1988. Cecil was a member of the Arizona Country Club and the Paradise Valley Country Club. As an avid golfer he enjoyed playing in and winning many tournaments. He could tell a joke or story like no other, was the best dancer and the life of any party and had a kind word for everyone. He was preceded in death by [his first wife Rosemae Jenks Boyd (mother of Dan and Bonnie), plus] three sisters and two brothers [Lorraine S. Speer, Luverne D. Gibson, Erwin C. Boyd (wife, Dorothy Carter Boyd), Elizabeth A. (Betty) Richards, and Paul K. Boyd]. He is survived by his wife, Jane, son Dan Boyd (wife, Gay), daughter Bonnie Wright, and daughter Susie Boyd [(second wife Jane's daughter from her marriage to Clay Davis prior to Cecil)]. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
