Obituary
The Book of Life was opened for Helen Louise Pitts-Coulter November 4th, 1933 in Fallis, Oklahoma. She was the second of five children born to Theodore "Ted" Pitts and Dorothy Evelyn Ranger-Pitts. Helen Louise first discovered Christ Jesus as a family member in 1942 at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (1400 NE 13th Street OKC, OK 73117).
As Helen Louise matured into womanhood, she gave birth to two beautiful children Dorothy Evelyn and Dwayne LaRue.
In 1959, Helen Louise left the place in which she called home, Oklahoma after 26 years. California bound; she headed south to prepare a better life for herself as well as her two children in Los Angeles, California. She then met and married Sterling Bland Coulter in October of 1963, where they blended together two separate families into one.
Helen Louise later became a member of the North Long Beach Christian Fellowship family where she was first received by her grandson, Minister Sterling Butler as well as her daughter Deaconess Dorothy Pitts under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Walter L. Carter.

After 52 years of marriage, Helen Louise was called up from her place of labor to be with the Lord. Adored and loved, Helen Louise leaves behind to celebrate her life and to carry on, her husband Sterling Bland Coulter, two sisters Bertalene Williams, Erma Jean Carlton and sister in law, Eula Tolson-Pitts all of Oklahoma City, two children daughter Dorothy Evelyn Pitts of Long Beach, California. Son Dwayne LaRue Atkins (Angie) of Los Angeles, California, Son Kenneth Coulter (Carol), daughter Starrlene Coulter-Mack (Robert), Grandson Sterling "Too" Butler (Robin), Granddaughter Ashley Atkins as well as a host of 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation grandchildren , nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family and friends spanning from coast to coast.
Helen Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Dorothy Ranger-Pitts, her two younger brothers Riley Leroy Pitts (Captain United States Army), Willard Clarence Pitts (Professor and Educator), sister Loretha Myers (daughter to Theodore Pitts) grandson Jerome Wayne Coulter and granddaughter Tiffany Crystal Burns. Helen Louise's dedication and influence will always be felt through her 82 years of life as well as her 27 years of service to the United States Postal Service along with her fraternal services to the Order of the Eastern Star.
