Larry L. Barger, 73, Marion, died at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Marion General Hospital. He was born in Portland, Indiana, to the late Carl and Vivian (Reichard) Barger. He married Rosemary “Lynn” Blankenbaker on November 6, 1965, and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2008.

Larry was a United States Army veteran. He worked as a dispatcher for RCA for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He also worked for H&R Block in Gas City and Marion for eight years. Larry was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to all of his grandchildren’s concerts, sporting events, and other activities.

Survivors include his children, Marsha Williams, Marion, Matthew (Melissa) Barger, Lexington, Kentucky, Nicole (David) Keasling, Van Buren, and Allison Brewer, Marion; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie (Richard) Burk, Fort Wayne, and Peggy (Peter) Smith, Sanford, Florida; and brothers-in-law, Chuck (Linda) Blankenbaker, North Carolina, and Mark Blankenbaker, Connecticut.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, 1921 W. Bradford St., Marion, IN, with Pastor Mark Helm officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
