Feb 19, 1932 Glenn G. King, 84 of Atlantic Beach FL, died peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Baptist Beaches Hospital, Jacksonville Beach, FL.
Formerly of Greencastle, PA, Glenn is preceded by his wife of 52 years, Patricia A. King (1934-2004) and is survived by five children; Sharon Sanderson of Big Spring, TX, Judith Wright of Huntsville, AL, Joseph King of Meridianville, AL, Wendy Carmack of Atlantic Beach, FL, and Christine King of Atlantic Beach, FL. Glenn is also survived by two sisters, Marian Rowe of Waynesboro, PA and Nancy Fahrney of Waynesboro PA. In addition, Glenn is survived by 5 grandchildren; James Sanderson of Llano, TX, Billy Sanderson, Jr. of Zimmerman, MN, Jason Sanderson of Maple Grove, MN, Matthew Wright of Laurel, MD, and Ryan Carmack of Huntsville, AL as well as 8 great grandchildren including Autumn Sanderson, Stephen Sanderson, Skye Sanderson, Mirelle Sanderson, Eric Sanderson, Lauren Sanderson, Levi Sanderson, and Ava Sanderson.
Glenn was born on February 19, 1932 in Chambersburg, PA to Lena Smith King and Albert Grant King. He graduated from Chambersburg Area High School in 1950.
Glenn worked as a draftsman/engineer for 45 years including working for Boeing in Huntsville, AL on the Saturn V moon rocket project for Apollo 11 from 1966 to1970.
In lieu of funeral services, the family will be planning a grave side memorial service in Chambersburg, PA in June, 2017.
