He is survived by three children, Tara Harmon, Brook Miller (Paul), and Eric Hancock, three grandchildren Carliayn Kell (Jason), Morgan Miller (Alexa Kovats), Bryce Miller, his great-grandson Bennett Miller, and his surrogate daughter Denise Brousseau, and many nieces, nephews and their descendants.
Dal attended Northern Illinois University and the University of Montana before joining the Army.
Dal was a life-long athlete and fan of all sports. Dal loved his family, his Lord, his church and friends. Since retiring from the construction industry, he shared his love and woodworking talents through multiple projects for his family, the community and Fellowship Presbyterian church. He was known for volunteering and providing encouragement to other amputees.
Dal's family is grateful to TMH Hospital and Cancer Center, Jeannie Hull from Big Bend Hospice and Fellowship Presbyterian for their love and care of Dal since his wife's death and his lung cancer diagnosis. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Big Bend Hospice or the Salvation Army.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the church.
