Billy Joe Grayum,72, of Caney, died Sunday September 25, 2011, at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Billy was born April 4, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of William and Fannie L. (Bishop) Garyum he grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma he attended school in Tulsa until high school he attended and Graduated from the Sedan School system.

Billy served in the United States Army attaining the rank of Spec. 5. On August 19, 1961 Billy was united in marriage to Lana Oyler in Havana, Kansas and she survives at their home.

Billy worked as a Production Pattern Maker for Kansas Matchplate and then Pressure Cast in Coffeyville until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife Lana of the home, one son Kelly Grayum of Tyro, Kansas, two daughters Angela Finney of Elk, City, Kansas, Pam Feerer of Coffeyville, Kansas, one brother Gary Grayum of Arkansas City, Kansas, one sister Sue Rowden of Neodesha, Kansas eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the First Christian Church Caney with the Reverend Brad Sanders Officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel. The family has suggested memorials to the American Diabetes Association and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney.
