Arthur J. Martinchek. 76, of Petoskey died April 11, 1992, at Lakeview AFC in Conway.
Funeral was Tuesday, April 14, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey. The Rev. Andre Schludccker, officiated and burial was in St. Francis Cemetery,
Mr. Martinchek was born February 25, 1916, in Leroy, Montana, the son or Joseph and Anna (Bleha) Martinchek. He grew up in Bay Shore and attended Petoskey schools. He graduated from Petoskey High School in 1934.
On May 30, 1947, he married the former Bertha Krupa in Cross Village. The couple made their home in East Bay View and she preceded him in death in 1968.
In l97S he married Helen Woolsey in Petoskey and the couple made their home in East Bay View.
Mr. Martinchek was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. He was a finish carpenter by trade and worked for Bare Construction in Petoskey for 18 years and other construction companies until 1981 when he retired.
Mr. Martinchek was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the St. Francis Holy Name Society
Survivors include his wife, Helen; one son, Jerry Martinchek of Petoskey; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Judy) Hunter of Petoskey; six grandchildren; three brothers, Oscar, Grant and Victor Martinchek, all of Bay Shore; and one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Edith) Fettig of Bay Shore.
