Daughter of Isaac Jacob Truax and Catherine Dockstader Truax of Schenectady, NY. First wife of James Buchan, who was born in Perthshire, Scotland and emigrated to Rochester NY to work as a merchant tailor with Patrick Kearney. James eventually opened his own retail and wholesale businesses in Rochester. Caroline was a member of the Presbyterian Church, but converted to the Roman Catholic faith in 1834. James and Caroline were the parents of 8 daughters and one son.

Gravesite Details

Originally buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery on Pinnacle Hill in Rochester and re-interred in the St. Patrick's Section at Holy Sepulchre in the 1935 when St. Patrick's was closed.
