James A. "Jim" Sturdivant, 72, of Logansport, passed away August 26, 2016, in Miller's Merry Manor.
Born December 14, 1943, in Flora, he was the son of the late Alva Anderson and Mary Gladys (Powell) Sturdivant.
December 18, 1965, in Cass County, he was married to Sue Ann (Crim) Sturdivant. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2001.
A 1962 graduate of Logansport High School, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.
After 31 years, Jim retired from the Chrysler Corporation in 1997,
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, Jim served as a stake missionary. His priorities were in perfect order: God, Family and Country. He will be dearly missed. Jim was also a member and past master of the New Waverly Masonic Lodge.
Survived by three children: James A. Sturdivant, Jr.and his wife Melissa and Jo Ellen Sturdivant, all of Logansport and Kathleen Michelle Krueger and her husband Mark, of Lake Cicott; three sisters: Josephine Cunningham of St. Louis, MO, Doris Ruse of Indianapolis and Lena Tibbets of Hollywood, FL; six grandchildren: Brianna Benson, Savannah Sturdivant and Mark, Gage, Kadence and Joseph Krueger; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Sturdivant, and one sister, Margaret Ferrell.
Visitation August 30 at Fisher Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service , August 31 in the funeral chapel with Brent Kepner officiating.
Burial, with full military rites, in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Honors will be accorded by the Indiana Army National Guard Honor Unit, the Cass County Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard.
