He was born January 11, 1930, in Vestaburg, a son of Christopher Sr. and Lillian Palmer Werner.
Mr. Werner was a coal miner with J&L Steel in Fredericktown, drove for Greyhound Bus Line in Washington and was a school bus driver for Keystone Auto in Jefferson-Morgan School District.
He was a former member of Vestaburg Presbyterian Church, Waynesburg Eagles and American Legion in Waynesburg.
Mr. Werner enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On August 16, 1952, he married Elizabeth Moore Werner, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Marsha Milliken and husband John of Waynesburg, Sharon Harris and husband Terry of Kingwood, W.Va., and Lillian Royer and husband Charles of Vestaburg; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Littlefield of Dayton, Ohio, and Karen Duncun and husband William of New Castle.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, Chuck Behm, director, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, with the Rev. Tom Fowler and the Rev. John Milliken officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville.
