Mr. Richard Ancil Williams, age 84, of Carrollton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on August 27, 2016, following a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born on July 5th, 1932 in Bartow County, Georgia. He was a faithful member, since 1970, of Consolation Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a minister, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a retired cabinet maker. He was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Freda Carol and Rebecca Ann; his father and mother, Marcus and Anna Lee Cheatwood Williams; brothers, Elbert Williams, Claude Williams, and Paul Williams; sisters: Leeoma Williams Jolley and a daughter-in-law, Gina Driver Williams. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Flois Cooper Williams; children: Debbie Cantrell and husband, Tim, and Keith Williams; nephew, whom he raised, David Beacham; grandchildren: Chad Cantrell, Erin Haider, and husband, James, great grandchildren: Eden Haider and James Haider Junior; brothers: Charlie Williams, Robert Williams, and Doyal Williams and wife Rilla; sisters: Jane Williams McRae and Sue Williams McRae; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 4:00 PM from Consolation Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Powers and Rev. Cecil Dutton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Tim Tinney, Mac Lewis, Tommy Holland, Nathan Sauls, Doug Rand, and Benny Rivers. Those seated as honorary pallbearers will be Bill Chandler, Levi Tinney, and Deacons of Consolation Baptist Church: James Rivers, Cliff Lowe, Craig Carson, and Randy Hicks.
